Mumbai: Bollywood celebrities like Anupam Kher, Shahid Kapoor, Anurag Kashyap and others took to reflect upon economic package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

Modi announced an economic package, which, along with previous packages, will amount to a whopping Rs 20 lakh crore to not just pull India out of the economic slump, but also make it self-reliant.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher shared his thoughts about PM's announcement and said that "when India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks, not only the country but the entire world listens and gets inspired". He also said that if all 1.30 billion Indians follow the self-reliance module, then we will definitely have success.

Veteran actor and politician Paresh Rawal also voiced his support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement as he took to Twitter and praised Modi for his efforts.

  • Always have Faith in @narendramodi . He will find way or Make one .

Impressed by Modi's rhetoric, Kabir Singh actor Shahid Kapoor also hailed his "inspiring speech" and resonated with the idea of self-reliant India.

  • Very powerful and inspiring speech by Shri Narendra Modi ji @PMOIndia. #golocal

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, however, has apparently opted to keep his opinion ambiguous. The Thappad helmer has tweeted and retweeted a few cryptic tweets following Modi's address to the nation.

Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap took a sly dig at one of PMO's tweet pressing on making India a self-sufficient nation.

  • I don't trust people who hire bad poets.

In his much-awaited televised address to the nation, Prime Minister asserted that India can and will use this crisis as an opportunity to make this century as that of India's. The economic package is dedicated for that purpose, he said.

He said that the package has a special focus on the marginalised, poor, fishermen, and migrant labourers. In a significant statement, Modi said the local business came to rescue of people during the lockdown and India needs to recognize its worth.
