Name a popular Bollywood song, and its likely that the man behind it is Amit Trivedi. From Emotional Atyachar (2009) to London Thumakda (2014) to a more recent, Naina Da Kya Kasur (2018), the composer has made audiences croon and has been an industry favorite ever since he entered the scene with 2008 release Aamir.
Trivedi, who turned a year older today, shot to fame with Dev.D, which earned him several awards, including a National Film Award, yet what has remained constant all these years is his quest for originality. His success also lies in his efforts to be relevant in a fast-changing industry as to adapt is his mantra to stay in the game.

Amit, who is a self-confessed AR Rahman fan, several times reminded music critics of his idol. Apart from the quality and
diversity of his compositions that is suggestive of such a comparison, another similarity between the two is their inclination towards building a pool of new singers. Neuman Pinto, Joi Barua and Tochi Raina are few among the new talents tapped by the composer.
The Nation Award-winning composer has never received any formal training in music and that is what makes his journey more intriguing.

Once in an interview, when Trivedi was asked what fascinated him to pursue a career in the music industry, he said he never intended to be a music composer but deep down knew that it is his calling.
Every music composer builds a special bond with a lyricist whose words give wings to their tunes. In Amit's case, it is his friends first, musical collaborators later -- lyricist-singer Amitabh Bhattacharya. The duo has worked together in more than a dozen films right from AT's debut Aamir to most recent Kedarnath. Lootera, however, remains their best so far.

Trivedi has a slew of projects at various stage of production. Dharma Productions' Gunjan Saxena film, Kargil Girl, Maidan with Amit Sharma, and Anurag Kashyap's next film are few among them. However, it is Telugu film V starring Nani, is the project he is looking forward to the most.
AT is chased by singers because things have really changed for those he’s given a break to. His graph and choice of films have been so different that he has become a brand in himself.
Here's to many more soul-stirring masterpieces from AT!
