Mumbai: Bhumi Pednekar and Rankummar Rao, Bollywood's two of the finest actors, are all set to expand the world of Badhaai Ho! The actors will be playing lead pair in Badhaai Do, which is a sequel to Ayushmann Khurrana starrer 2018 release.
According to reports, Bhumi will be seen playing the role of a PT teacher while Rajkummar plays a solo male cop in a women’s police station. The canvas sounds interesting!
If reports are to be believed, Bhumi's character in the film is of a strong and independent woman.
Talking about her author-backed role, Bhumi told a leading daily that opportunities like this give her a lot of scope to bring a very different and cool character to life. The actor also said that she excited for sharing screen space with Rajkummar.
"This time, too, the film will say something extremely relevant and relatable, but in a hilarious manner. I’m also excited to share screen space with Raj for the first time,” the daily quoted Bhumi as saying.

Produced by Junglee Pictures, the film will be helmed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni who had co-written 2014 release Hasee Toh Phasee.
Badhaai Do will mark Rajkummar's second collaboration with Junglee Pictures after Bareilly Ki Barfi.
Rao said that though he had donned the uniform before "but never with this perspective."
"I look for layered characters and this is a perfect match. My character is surrounded by strong women at home and work, and that adds immense depth to his personality. Junglee Pictures’ Bareilly Ki Barfi was a fabulous experience for me. Badhaai Do is a reunion in many ways,” Rajkummar also told the daily.
Shooting for the film is likely to commence from June and the makers are aiming to release it next year.
