Banita Sandhu to replace Megha in 'Arjun Reddy' Tamil remake

Hyderabad: The Tamil remake of the Telugu blockbuster film 'Arjun Reddy' is again in the news as the makers have confirmed that Banita Sandhu has been roped in to play the leading lady in the new version.

The actress who made her Bollywood debut with Soojit Sircar's directorial film 'October' will mark her Tamil debut with the new version of 'Varmaa.' The which was already shot with Bengali actor Megha Choudhary will now have Banita playing the role of Priti (played by Shalini Pandey in 'Arjun Reddy')

Dhruv Vikram, who is making his debut with 'Varmaa', will be a part of the new version, while official announcements regarding the other cast and crew including director will be made shortly.

According to the grapevine, Gautam Menon will don the director's hat and replace the award-winning director Bala.

After completion of the shoot, the teaser and trailer of 'Varmaa' were dropped on the internet which received disappointing reactions by the audience. The producers wanted to reshoot the remake of this cult film.

Produced by E4 Entertainment, the film is scheduled to hit the screens in June 2019.

The Hindi remake of 'Arjun Reddy' is also in development. Actors Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani are reprising the roles of Vijay and Shalini Pandey in it.
