B-town extends support to PM's '9 PM- 9 Mins' appeal

Many Bollywood celebs including Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Kartik Aryan and Taapsee Pannu followed PM Narendra Modi's '9PM- PMins' appeal, lit candles and lamps at and shared heartfelt messages of unity and togetherness.

Mumbai: Following PM Narendra Modi’s unique exercise to light lamps on Sunday, many B-town celebs including Akshay Kumar, Kartik Aaryan, Karan Johar, Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet, Nushrat Bharucha, Taapsee Pannu among others lit candles of hope and portrayed the symbol of unity. They came to their balconies and prayed for the victory of light over darkness.

Akshay Kumar uploaded a picture in which he is seen holding a candle in the balcony. "Together we stand and together we will come out of this dark phase. Till then stay strong, stay safe," he captioned.

Deepika Padukone shared a picture with husband Ranveer who is seen holding a lamp. She shared the picture on her Instagram story, hoping for the situations to get better.

Ranveer Singh also posted the same picture on his Insta Story.

Karan Johar shared a video in which he is seen standing in balcony switching on the flashlights with son Yash and daughter Roohi. "Let there be light.....there is light at the end of this dark tunnel....," he wrote.

Taapsee Pannu shared picture of candles on her Instagram stories. ‘Double Yay,' she wrote.

Kartik Aaryan posted his picture with diyas and captioned, "Together, Everything is Possible."

Kriti Sanon posted a picture in which she can be seen standing and praying with a candle in her hand."Because it’s always a good time to pray.. 🙏🏻🕯 For love, health and happiness,”she captioned.

Vicky Kaushal uploaded pic of candles and wrote, “To unity. To togetherness. To us! ✨🙏.”

Bhumi Pednekar shared a video of her standing in the balcony with her mobile phone. “Thank you 🙏🏻 to all our doctors, all the front line workers and their families. We promise to do our bit by staying indoors and being responsible towards you and our society,” she wrote.

Besides them, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Siddharth Malhotra, Ekta Kapoor, Badshah, Shreya Ghoshal, Isha Gupta, Kapil Sharma, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Diana Penty, Kajal Aggarwal, among others also participated in the 9pm-9-mins program.
