Ayushmann pays musical tribute to 'immortal' artist Kishore Kumar, shares video

Ayushmann Khurrana has paid a musical tribute to the 'immortal' artist Kishore Kumar on his birth anniversary. In Kumar's remembrance, Ayushmann crooned Chhu Kar Mere Manko from 1981 released Yaarana.

Hyderabad: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is an ardent admirer of late singer-actor Kishore Kumar is known. On Kumar's birth anniversary today, Ayushmann paid a befitting tribute to the 'immortal' artist. Khurrana is shooting in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, which is nearly 257 km away from Khandwa where Kumar was born in 1929.

On Wednesday, Ayushmann took to Instagram to share a video wherein he is seen singing Kumar's Chhu Kar Mere Manko from 1981 released Yaarana. Sharing the video, he wrote, "Happy birthday Kishore da! You don’t sleep the entire night and then record this early in the morning. And you don’t get sleep coz it’s Kishore da’s birthday. And I’m in his state MP! Bhopal is treating me well. Khandwa, his birthplace is just two hours away from here."

In the video, Ayushmann is accompanied by Akshay Varma on piano who trained him for Andhadhun and is now his dialect coach for the upcoming film Doctor G.

"And pls welcome @akshayvarma04 , my musician friend, who trained me with the piano in Andhadhun. And now he’s training me with the dialect for Doctor G! As of now “Tu jo kahe jeewan bhar tere liye main gaaoon.” The song of an artiste who is immortal. #HappyBirthdayKishoreDa," Khurrana concluded.

Last month, remembering the legend on his death anniversary, Ayushmann had said that not getting to meet his "guru" is the biggest regret of his life. The actor added: "Honestly, he is, has been, and will always be my guru. It is my single biggest regret that I didn't get the opportunity to meet him and seek his blessings, but through his music, I'm blessed to understand his brilliance," he had said.

Speaking about his upcoming slate of work, Ayushmann will soon be seen in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Anek directed by Anubhav Sinha, and Doctor G directed by Anubhuti Kashyap.
