Mumbai: After delivering successful commercial hits, actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Kartik Aaryan are eyeing to feature in the Highway director Imtiaz Ali's next.
The actors have reportedly been approached for the titular roles in the movie.
Titled Elvis of Punjab, the movie is based on the Punjabi folk singer Amar Singh Chamkila.
The Jab We Met director has already acquired the rights from the late singer's family to make a film on the folk singers life.
The biopic on the life of Amar Singh Chamkila is already in its scripting stages, revealed a source close to Ali.
Though the news of Imtiaz in talks with Ayushmann and Kartik for the titular roles have surfaced the internet, it is yet to be known who will be playing the particular role.

Speculations have build up that both might be featured in the film.
Although the makers of the film have kept tight-lipped on the question. But surely it would be interesting to see them on screen together for the first time.
Meanwhile, Kartik has already finished shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming flick Love Aaj Kal 2 which is a sequel to Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Love Aaj Kal.
Love Aaj Kal 2 features Saif scion Sara Ali Khan opposite to Kartik Aaryan. The duo have been making headlines for quite some time now for their off-screen dynamics.
With Ayushmann, it would be the director’s first collaboration with the actor.
Sources reveal that the chance of casting Ayushmann in the lead is more since the actor is a singer himself.
It's only a matter of time now that the cine lovers will get to know more about the project from the horse's mouth.
