Bhopal: Anubhav Sinha's much awaited thriller 'Article 15' which is releasing today is apparently heading for trouble. The women wing of the Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Samaj staged protest against the release of the film here.
'Article 15' which is reportedly inspired from the Badaun rape and murder case has apparently upset the Brahmins. On June 27, the women wing of Brahmin outfit thronged Rang Mahal theater in the city to protest to stall the release of 'Article 15' in Madhya Pradesh.
The community is upset over the "tweaked" story with the intention of portraying the accused men as Brahmins, they feel it will defame the community.
The women wing also said that if the film releases in the state they will file an FIR against film's director.
Meanwhile, film's director has written an open letter to those offended by his film's trailer.

Anubhav wrote that one should not judge a film from its trailer as the trailer is made by stitching together various pieces of the film. He said that a film’s intention is never to disrespect a society and he can vouch for that fact on behalf of all his filmmaker friends.

The trailer of the film, which was released on May 30, shows two young girls of a village brutally raped and murdered, their bodies hanging from a tree. It shows the girls -- whose families are marginalised and forced to work as laborers -- were targeted because they demanded a hike of Rs 3, in their daily wages.
The film depicts how caste equations are prevalent in the area. Ayushman Khurana, who plays the police officer investigating the case, is a Brahmin and deals with the caste complexities of the case.
