Mumbai: Arjun Rampal is one among many who couldn't return home post the nationwide lockdown announced in March. The actor who is stuck in Karjat with family is happy to be spending quarantine days in nature's lap instead confined in an apartment.

Rampal was shooting in Karjat and had to stay back after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown last month which was further extended to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The only grace for the actor is he was accompanied by his family, partner Gabriella Demetriades and his son, Arik, to Karjat.

Speaking to a tabloid, the Om Shanti Om star said, "I thought it would be better to operate from here instead of travel at this point. I have a house here, so it worked out well."

Rampal said the prime reason for his decision to not return home in the given situation is the safety of his 9-months-old son.

"We decided to stay back for my son's safety. While he is too young now, this will be a story to tell him when he grows older. Besides, Mumbai is just a few hours away, and hence, easily accessible in case of an emergency," said the actor.

The 47-year-old actor also said that he is enjoying being in nature's lap instead of confined to an apartment. While being with Gabriella and Ark, Arjun is keeping a constant tab on his daughter, Mahikaa and Myra, who are with his ex-wife, Mehr in Mumbai.

On a related note, Rampal along with his family have extended a helping hand in providing PPE kits to the hospitals, doctors and nurses to help them in the fight against coronavirus. He also urged people to donate 1 uniform for these corona warriors to keep them safe and healthy.
