Arjun Rampal reacts to reports of him leaving the country after NCB summons

Actor Arjun Rampal was summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau for an appearance on Wednesday but the actor sought a week's time to depose before the agency in Mumbai. Following this, several news channels reported that Rampal has left the country but the actor has put an end to speculations and said he is "very much in the country."

Hyderabad: Actor Arjun Rampal has sought time till December 21 to appear before Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with a drug-related case. Recently there were reports doing the rounds that the actor had left the country after seeking extra time.

Quashing the fake news about him leaving the country, Arjun took to Twitter and wrote, "Very much in the country, in fact just doing promotions for #nailpolish I guess some news channels have become travel agents.. lol #FakeNews."

The 47-year-old actor was questioned by the NCB on November 13 in the matter. The officials of the apex drug law enforcement agency had conducted a raid at the residence of Rampal and seized electronic gadgets and some medicines banned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act on November 9. Rampal's girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades was later questioned for six hours on the same day.

Gabriella's brother Agisilaos Demetriades was arrested by the NCB in the case in October and it was found that he was in touch with many Bollywood celebrities. Meanwhile, the NCB has also arrested Paul Bartel, a friend of the Om Shanti Om actor, in the case. Further investigation in the drug-related cases is underway.
