Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next directorial Gangubai Kathiawadi which got paused due to the outbreak of deadly coronavirus, will apparently be the first film to resume shooting post-lockdown. The film stars Alia Bhatt in lead role.

Buzz was that a lavish set built for the film had to be demolished owing to the lockdown. While many still believe that the set has been demolished in Goregaon Filmcity, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) secretary, Ashok Dubey, has claimed that the set is very much intact.

Ashok said that a lot of filmmakers have kept their film sets intact and they are just waiting to resume the shoot post lockdown.

He told a leading portal, "Sanjay Leela Bhansali was already shooting in Filmcity and his set is still there. So the possibility is that his movie will be the first to resume shoot with the necessary precautions, once the permission is granted by CM. Boney Kapoor ji’s film was being shot in Madh Island, his sets have been covered and he may begin shoot once the lockdown ends."

The FWICE secretary also spoke about CM Uddhav Thackeray's statement on film shoots being resumed soon. He said that though coronavirus is not going to end anytime soon, they have kept all the necessary precautions in mind. They have written a letter to CM urging to start the shoot.

He went on to mention that they have been granted permission to shoot in the green and orange zones. Since Mumbai is in the red zone, it will take some time for the film shoots to resume.
