Alia Bhatt gets a 'warm welcome' from RRR makers in Hyderabad

Actor Alia Bhatt has joined the team of S S Rajamouli's ambitious film RRR in Hyderabad. Welcoming Ms Bhatt, the makers dropped a candid picture of the actor with Rajamouli from the sets of the highly anticipated movie.

Mumbai: Actor Alia Bhatt has commenced shooting for ace filmmaker S S Rajamouli's upcoming period drama Rise Roar Revolt (RRR) in Hyderabad. The film will mark her debut in south cinema.

DVV Entertainment, the banner which bankrolls Rajamouli's high-budgeted period drama took to Twitter to share a candid picture in which Rajamouli is apparently seen briefing Alia who is keenly listening to the captain of the ship.

"A very warm welcome to our dearest #Sita, the supremely talented and beautiful @Aliaa08 on to the sets of #RRRMovie! Glowing starRed heart#AliaBhatt," reads the tweet on DVV Entertainment's official handle.

On Sunday, the 27-year-old actor shared a selfie from the car and wrote on her Instagram Story, "And finally en route Team RRR."

As reported earlier, RRR narrates a fictional tale based on the lives of two freedom fighters in the early 20th century -- Alluri Sitarama Raju and Kumram Bheem, played by Ram Charan and N T Rama Rao Jr.

In October, writer-director Rajamouli of Baahubali fame resumed shooting on the movie with the leading men in Hyderabad with necessary safety precautions amid the coronavirus pandemic, nearly seven months after the filming was halted.

Besides Alia, RRR also stars Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn in a pivotal role.

The film is slated to hit cinema halls on January 8, 2021 and will also be released in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.
