Hyderabad: It's been over a year since Alaya F's debut film Jawaani Jaaneman hit the big screens. Though her performance in the film bagged her Filmfare Award, the news about her next outing did not go beyond rumours. After a long wait, Alaya has bagged the Hindi remake of Kannada hit U-Turn.

With Jawaani Jaaneman, Alaya pleased the audience and critics alike. Despite delivering an impressive debut, Alaya is yet to announce her upcoming projects officially. The newbie has been roped in by Ekta Kapoor for her upcoming production venture which is a Hindi remake of 2016 released Kannada thriller U-Turn.

On Monday morning, Alaya took to her Instagram to announce her association with Ekta for U-Turn and wrote, "Sometimes in life, taking a shortcut is not the only way ahead. In the upcoming film, Alaya will be seen playing a reporter who is on an assignment to unearth the truth behind a strange murder after she crosses paths with a young cop and becomes the investigation's prime suspect. The story takes interesting twists and turns after the journalist who intends to write an article on traffic rule breakers gets dragged into a whirlpool of murder cases and deception. Before the Hindi remake comes out, U-Turn was also remade with Samantha Akkineni in the lead in Tamil and Telugu in 2018.

According to a webloid report, U-Turn Hindi remake headlined by Alaya will go on floors in Mumbai on Tuesday. Bankrolled by Ekta's Cult Movies, a new division of Balaji Telefilms, the film will be directed by debutante director Arif Khan.
