Hyderabad: Superstar Akshay Kumar, who is in his 50s and still manages to have a huge female following, has revealed that he was too shy in his youth and for the same reason his first girlfriend had left him.
In a throwback video that is now going viral on social media, Akshay is seen revealing this interesting detail about his romantic history from his youth days. The video is from promotions of his 2019 released Housefull 4 when Akki along with Riteish Deshmukh and Bobby Deol had appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show. During the show, Akshay had revealed that his first girlfriend left him after the two had gone out for a couple of dates.

Narrating the story, the Mission Mangal actor said, "Problem thi ki main bohot shy tha. Maine kabhi kandhe par haath nahi rakha, haath pakda nahi. Woh chahti thi ki main haath pakdu ya I should kiss her or something. Maine kiya nahi toh woh chhod ke chali gayi (The problem was that I was too shy. I never kept my arm around her shoulder or held her hand. She wanted me to hold her hand or kiss her. I never did so she left me)."

Meanwhile, Akshay and actor-turned-author Twinkle Khanna have recently completed twenty years of marital bliss and sharing a quirky post on the occasion, the actor had said that she still makes his heart flutter. Akshay posted a picture along with Twinkle on Instagram. In the image, Akshay is seen sporting a white shirt while Twinkle is hugging the Kesari star from the back dressed in a stunning royal blue ensemble.

Akshay and Twinkle tied the knot in January 2001. The couple has two children -- a son named Aarav and a daughter named Nitara.
