Police filed an FIR against the hate troll and rape threats directed to Anurag Kashyap's daughter after the director lodged a complaint. Pro-BJP personalities slammed the incident as planned.

Mumbai: Days after the twitter scuffle, cinematographer Anurag Kashyap has finally lodged an FIR at Amboli Police Station. Kashyap who had congratulated PM Modi on his landslide victory sought his attention on the threats hurled at his daughter. The threatening messages were aimed at his daughter. Kashyap is a known dissenter of the establishment.

Anurag made an official complaint at the police station based on which an FIR has been filed under Sections 504, 509 of Indian Penal Code and 67 of IT Act. The investigations have already been started.

The film-maker conveyed his gratitude to Mumbai Police, Maharashtra Cyber and Brijesh Singh - an associate of the cyberspace. He extended his appreciations to Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis and PM Narendra Modi.

In a recent statement, the national award winning director said that as a father he is more secure now as he received support from the police force.

Anurag recently tweeted: "Anyways I want to thank @MumbaiPolice @MahaCyber1 @Brijeshbsingh for helping me with filing the FIR. Thank you so much for the amazing support and starting the process.Thank you @Dev_Fadnavis and thank you @narendramodi Sir. As a father, I am more secure now."

Kashyap had earlier been attacked by actress Payal Rohatgi and Suchitra Krishnamoorthi for tagging PM in his tweet.

Referring the whole situation as victim drama and a plan to target Modi, Rohatgi tweeted: "Why doesn’t Anurag Kashyap file a complaint in cybercrime? Just posting an ANONYMOUS handle screenshot with #chowkidar title is apparently a PLAN to target Modi It can be created by himself also to do this #VictimDrama. Haters can go to any extent to promote their narrative.”
