Hyderabad: Superstar Aamir Khan has been reportedly approached to play the titular role in Guru Dutt biopic helmed by Bhavna Talwar. Aamir is in talks with the makers for the film which is titled Pyaasa.
According to a webloid report, Aamir has shown a keen interest in Pyaasa which is reportedly being made on a lavish scale with a whopping budget of Rs 120 cr. Talwar, who worked on the script for seven years, is now ready to take the film on floors. To do justice to Dutt's life which was intense and complex, the makers want an accomplished actor and who better to play master storyteller in the biopic than Aamir. The actor too has liked Talwar's script but nothing is concrete as of now.

Guru Dutt had a successful career as an actor and filmmaker between 1950 and 1960 with films like Pyaasa, Kaagaz Ke Phool, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Aar-Paar, Baazi, Mr. & Mrs. 55, and Chaudhvin Ka Chand among others.
With Pyaasa, Bhavna intends to capture the transformation of Guru Dutt from a telephone operator to a prominent figure of Indian cinema.
