Hyderabad: Rajini Chandy, a Malayalam actor recently became a victim of online trolling and slut-shaming for her latest photoshoot which a section of social media found 'too sexy' to attempt for a sexagenarian.

Rajini, who has acted in three Malayalam movies and participated in the Malayalam Big Boss reality show, recently took social media by storm with her glamorous photoshoot. In the sleek pictures, the 69-year-old actor is seen donning a midi dress, denim jackets and jumpsuits.

The pictures oozing only elegance with no trace of vulgarity could not escape the uncalled for criticism and attracted trolls who started spitting hate on Chandy's social media page. In her recent interview with a leading webloid, Rajini has spoken about how major negative comments were made by the women and that left her surprised.

"I was called a slut. Someone asked me, 'Haven’t you died yet?' Another suggested that I 'sit at home and read the Bible. This is your age to pray, not show off your body'. Yet another person said I was an old auto-rickshaw and even if I got a new coat of paint, I’d still be old," shared Rajini in the interview with the webloid.

Needless to say, the negative comments took a toll on Chandy as they were made by women. "A lot of young men find sexiness in older women disturbing, they don’t want to think of them as an object of desire. But what I found surprising was that most of the negative comments were made by women," she was quoted as saying by the webloid.

On a related note, in 2020, Rajini also made headlines for holding a protest against the dumping of waste in public places in Kerala's Kochi in a bid to keep the state clean amid COVID-19 crisis.
