Berlin, Germany: Looking almost like a house pet, these little cleaning robots have revolutionized the way we vacuum over the past few years.
And today two of the biggest players in the robot vacuum industry take to the stage at IFA in Berlin to showcase the latest innovations.
First up, Neato reveals their next generation of premium robot vacuums: the Neato D10, D9 and D8.
"We want to make sure that this is the fastest and most efficient and simplest way to connect your robot to the net," explains Thomas Nedder, CEO of Neato.
He points to the D10 which has a runtime of 150 minutes and a True HEPA filter to capture up to 99.97 percent of allergens, which he says is particularly important amid COVID-19.
"So everything that is larger than 3 micron will be caught. And I think this is really, really an important feature," he says.
He also adds that safety is an essential feature throughout the Neato ranges, and is something they are always working to improve:
"We added even more sensors to the robot and the navigation is continuously improved. And we scale it further for the future. As I said reliability as a total package is key. And we will have the best and most important reliable service available," he says.
Next up, Ecovacs shows off four of their latest in the Deebot range. On stage, General Manager of EMEA, Anna Golovach starts with their flagship Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI.
Product Innovation Leader for EMEA, Horst Hess, explains it uses Artificial Intelligence and Visual Intelligence (AIVI) technology.
"It will change the way people see robots. Because the robot sees as well. AIVI technology is a software that works with a front camera. So the robot can identify obstacles that come in its way. And based on a database the AI can identify five typical obstacles at home: rocks, socks, shoes, and the best part, cables."
Golovach also unveils the U2 Pro, the Winbot, and the Airbot - an air-purifying robot that determines the quality of the air and then cleans it.
