Though the COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected the world, the lockdowns it has brought about have resulted in nature reclaiming its presence in the world after years of abuse, and humans themselves adopting healthier lifestyles staying at home.

Hyderabad: With the COVID-19 pandemic wreaking havoc all over the world, in the coming years, we might actually see time being addressed as ‘Before Corona’ and ‘After Corona’.

Unfortunately, this year has seen many changes in various sectors of economic, industrial and social development. Experts from various fields are already sharpening their intelligence to determine what kind of fruit will be produced by the seed called ‘Corona’ which has been planted this year. They are trying to predict the future in their respective fields.

For example, experts estimate that the world is looking towards India and not China for helping them out in terms of producing medicines and pharmaceutical needs. This stands true even in case of manufacturing of some industrial products. They envisage that we are going to witness the emergence of our country as a powerhouse in various fields in the coming age.

We are further reminded of the English idiom – “Necessity is the Mother of Invention”, with the ongoing situation. It is the prime responsibility of such experts to make sure that we stand up to these assessments with the help of appropriate guidelines and directions.

During this period of initiating a new era, there was a drastic change brought about in the social life of humans. Nature has proven powerful once again, in the sense that it had locked-down man’s movements, thereby freeing itself from his strong and poisonous clutches. It had taken up the task of purifying itself, during this time.

However, nature is but as merciful as a mother’s tender heart. Because of this lovely heart itself, it makes sure to come back in the day bringing with it bright sunlight and health to us, even after the day drags into a scary night. Anticipating and explaining this beautiful phenomenon in a poetic hymn, is the sole responsibility of the nature-loving poets. Likewise, it is also the visionary who has to understand the changes that have passed through the ages, and is able to envisage the changing generation and its distinctive voice.

It is the intellectuals who need to provide sound instructions to the general public on futuristic development and plans thereupon. In the current scenario, communicating these instructions to the general public has become the main responsibility of the media.

Recalling the words of the great poet, Kaloji, wherein he says that "It is the heights of desperation to think that the night would never end and there would be no sunlight. Likewise, it is the heights of greed as to think that the sunlight should never fade into evening!”

Similarly, it is the responsibility of the media to let the people live in reality and plan accordingly, by neither being desperate nor greedy. They should be shown light and path, with the help of technical know-how. This is how media can take mankind forward.

A leading physician reviewing the decline of non-corona patients in their hospital, commented that people had stopped ‘buying’ their ailments and hence are not seen in hospitals, thereby leaving the doctors job-less. This comment by itself reflects a dramatic change that has been brought about in the habits of the people who have had no concern on their health and are habituated to reckless dietary and drinking habits.

We have spent so many days in the house while cleaning it, cooking and eating healthy food and breathing fresh air. The daily hustle bustle of our lives has been left behind and we are now living a similar life led by our fore-fathers, and hence are as healthy as they used to be.

Be it the lots of time we have in hand or just out of boredom, some of us have started doing various exercises, asanas like pranayama etc., This has resulted in our lungs getting healthier and wealthier too by the growing levels of immunity in the body.

The question of the medical veteran is related to such a stage where people tend to become healthier as in such cases above. Herein lays the truth. This year, we have been a little relieved from the simmering boil of summer compared to what we have experienced over the past ten to fifteen years. Doctors are saying that this is a result of the increase in our inner strength culminated with that of Mother Nature’s self-healing process. After all, didn’t we miss the habit of drinking cold water directly from the fridge as soon as we are back from being out in the sun?

Adults generally say that if they follow such good habits for 21 days, the body will get used to it and that it takes 40 days to get rid of bad addictions. Thanks to the current lockdown period that we are experiencing, both of those periods have been completed and detention is still ongoing. Already, our faces seem refreshed. So if we forget about detentions and relaxation and make cleanliness and physical exercise part of everyday life, this '21-day and 40-day penance' will prove to be quite beneficial in creating a wonderful life for us. Likewise, the life expectancy also will increase without fail.

The pollution-free rivers are guaranteeing us pure water while the naturally cleansed and unpolluted clouds are ready to bring us happiness through purified rainfall. Air-filled with oxygen is playing the role of insuring our lungs. The nature that has calmed down is proving to regain the assurance of human life. The eternal truth that - ‘If we want to be good, we need to be good to those around us’ has been transforming man into a universal being with a strong belief in the saying- 'Sarvejanaa Sukhino Bhavanthu', which means ‘Let the whole planet and its people be safe and sound’.

We have in fact transformed ourselves to this universal being of oneness from a stage of thinking just about ourselves as in 'I, me and myself’. Because of this personal development that is being done as a team, the world is looking forward to India. This new era is waiting for the beautiful sonnets that we are going to weave together, into it, by savouring the twists and turns being provided by the scenarios in the present and the near future.
