Guntur (Andhra Pradesh): A woman in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district allegedly killed her husband after he opposed her extra-marital relationship with a person. Meanwhile, the police have arrested the accused woman and her aide on Saturday.
The woman, identified as Srikumari, killed her husband Brahmayya on November 4 with the help from Ashok Reddy.
During interrogation, the woman confessed that she killed her husband by feeding him cyanide, which is used to make jewellery.
According to Guntur superintendent of police (SP) Vishal Gunny, the couple was married a few years ago. Srikumari has been in an extra-marital affair with Ashok. Ashok used to frequently visit her.
The couple had an argument on November 1 and on November 4, the woman along with Ashok Reddy conspired to kill Brahmayya. She had also paid Rs 10 lakh to a man to kill her husband, SP said.
While Brahmayya was returning to his house, two unknown persons stopped him and sprayed the chemical (cyanide) on his face. Following which, Brahmayya died on the spot, SP informed.
"A post-mortem examination of the body revealed the cause of death as poisoning. During the investigation, it was revealed that Srikumari and Ashok Reddy conspired to kill Brahmayya. We have arrested the accused and they will be produced in court. Further investigation is underway," SP Vishal Gunny added.
