Ghaziabad: Two persons, linked to the recent jewellery shop robbery in Vijay Nagar, were nabbed by the police on Tuesday, alongside recovery of gold ornaments, pistols and a vehicle from their possession.
Outlining the details of the incident to the media persons, City Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar said that the robbery was carried out on May 2 and the two suspects were detained during a routine checkup at Hindon barrage area.
"Upon frisking them, during the checkup, we recovered gold ornaments (26 gold rings, 21 earrings and others) along with two country-made pistols with six cartridges, and a four-wheeler which was reportedly used in the robbery," mentioned Kumar.
Meanwhile, the accused: Rohit (24) of Burari in North Delhi and Rakesh (28) of Dujana village in Gautam Budh Nagar district, have been arrested. Besides the robbery, they have also confessed to killing a doctor in Loni on February 20.
