Banda (Uttar Pradesh): A five-year-old girl has allegedly raped in a village near Girwan police station of Uttar Pradesh's Banda district on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, an FIR was registered against the accused under the POCSO Act, after which he was arrested on the same night. Police said that the girl’s condition was critical and she was admitted to the hospital.
According to reports, the accused entered the house of the minor girl on Saturday evening when the victim’s mother had gone outside. Later, the accused lured her to a nearby field and raped her.
The accused also threatened the girl of dire consequences if she told anyone about the rape, and he fled from the spot.
On being heard the scream of the girl, locals immediately reached the spot and rushed her to a women's hospital of the district.
She was bleeding heavily from the private part. After primary treatment, a team of doctors at the hospital referred the minor to another hospital where her health condition remains critical.
A case was registered in the Girwan police station. On basis of the complaint lodged by the victim's family, police arrested the accused under Sec 376 of IPC and Sec 6 of Pocso Act and further investigation is underway.
