Court sentences man to life imprisonment for kidnap, murder of girl

A man was sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 in the charge of kidnapping and murdering a teenage girl in Ganjam district of Odisha. The District and session court Judge had examined 38 witnesses before pronouncing the punishment.

Berhampur (Odisha): A court in Ganjam district sentenced a man to life imprisonment for kidnapping and murdering a teenage girl in Odisha.

Public Prosecutor Ajit Kumar Patnaik said, "The convict Ganesh Moharana sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for kidnapping and murdering a teenage girl."

The judgment was pronounced by District and sessions court Judge Bibhu Prasad Routray after examining 38 witnesses which are accountable for the case.

The victim was 16 years old at the time of the incident, was kidnapped and then murdered in the year 2014. However, the culprit and the victim belong to the same Golanathara village.
