New Delhi: Putting an end to speculations regarding former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's health, his family tweeted out on Friday, noting that Musharraf was not on ventilator support, but in a stage where "recovery is not possible". "He is not on the ventilator. He has been hospitalized for the last 3 weeks due to a complication of his ailment (Amyloidosis). Going through a difficult stage where recovery is not possible and organs are malfunctioning. Pray for ease in his daily living" the tweet read.
This came after several media reports emerged on Friday, claiming the ex-Pakistan Army General had passed away. Musharraf, who was born in New Delhi, seized the power in 1999 after mounting a military coup in Pakistan. He subsequently served as the President between 2001 and 2008.
