Londonderry: Police officers and their vehicles were attacked with petrol bombs while conducting targeted searches against members of the dissident paramilitary group at the New IRA in Londonderry in Northern Ireland.
The violence unfolded after police found what they said was a suspicious object while searching for bomb-making equipment on Monday.
The incident forced around 15 homes to be evacuated in the Creggan Heights area.
