Piatra Neamt: A large metal structure that appeared on a Romanian hillside, days after a similar one disappeared from a desert in the US state of Utah, has vanished.
The construction appeared on a hilly area on Friday and was gone on Monday, leaving a small hole and some debris in its place.
It was unclear who placed the structure there and who had removed it several days later.
In the US, a Colorado photographer had told KSTU-TV that he saw four men come to the remote Utah site on Friday night and push over the hollow, stainless steel object.
The sheriff’s office in San Juan County, Utah, has said it's not planning an investigation into the disappearance of the monolith, which had been placed without permission on public land.
But authorities also said they would accept tips from any of the hundreds of visitors who trekked out to see the otherworldly gleaming object deep in the desert.
