London: Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge contracted COVID-19 in April at a similar time to his father Prince Charles, British media reported on Sunday.
Kensington Palace which is Prince William's home and office has declined to say anything about this officially.
According to the Sun, Prince William did not want to worry or trouble anyone with his health report. During his isolation he was treated by the palace doctors and his family was isolated at Anmer Hall, in Norfolk. It was not clear how serious his condition was.
However, the news comes days before England enters the second lockdown with four-week measures to start on Thursday as the number of cases began to rise as restrictions were eased.
As per the new measures, nonessential businesses must close and bars and restaurants can only offer takeout. Activities ranging from haircuts to foreign holidays must once again be put on hold.
Johnson had hoped a set of regional restrictions introduced earlier in October would be enough to push numbers down. But government scientific advisers predict that on the outbreak’s current trajectory, demand for hospital beds will exceed capacity by the first week of December, even if temporary hospitals set up during the first peek of the virus are reopened.
