Kyiv: The court rejects claim demanding ban on the Presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky withdrawal from the race.

Andrey Khilko, election observer, on Saturday filed a legal petition against Volodymyr Zelensky and oblige the central Election Commission to cancel his registration for the presidential race.

Khilko said, "Zelensky has offered on his Facebook page tickets and urged people to come (to the public debate) and thus this is a violation."

"When I, as an official observer, have registered violations by Zelenskiy I had the right to appeal the court to define this violation and as a result to cancel his registration as a candidate. Because at least 12,000 people have used free tickets, which is prohibited by the law," he said.

Due to absence of evidence the court has rejected the claim.

Zelensky, 41, took a tour of the country with his comedy show instead of following the traditional political campaign.

During his interview, he said that he would continue to push for close ties with the EU and NATO and also spoke out for more active efforts to reintegrate the rebels in the east back into Ukraine's fold.
