London: An inspirational pensioner has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds as she takes on a mammoth task of climbing the height of a mountain using her staircase.
Ninety-year-old Margaret Payne has set herself the challenge of climbing the height of Scottish mountain Suilven using nothing but her stairs at her home in the Scottish Highlands.
So far she has raised more than 300,000 pounds (approximately 489,235 US dollars) for charities supporting the NHS, Highlands Hospice, and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and has even received a royal letter from the heir to the British throne, Prince Charles.

Margaret said she took on the challenge after being inspired by the fundraising efforts of Captain Sir Tom Moore - who raised tens of millions of pounds for NHS charities by walking around his garden during the lockdown.
On her fundraising page, Payne said she estimates the challenge will take her between 10 and 12 weeks.
