Baghdad: Anti-government protests continued in Baghdad's central Tahrir Square on Monday as women took to the streets demanding reforms and regime change.

Police fired tear gas to disperse the thousands of protesters as the demonstrations resumed.

Iraqis have launched two waves of mass protests this month calling for the resignation of a government they blame for corruption, economic mismanagement, and poor public services.

Women took to the streets as anti-governmental protests continue, on Monday.

Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi has refused to resign but he has promised to reshuffle his Cabinet.

The protests are a continuation of demonstrations that began early October and turned deadly after security forces cracked down using live ammunition.

The Iraqi interior ministry and the military issued statements saying some protesters had exploited the rallies to attack government buildings and political party offices.

Iraqi authorities said on Sunday that the death toll from Iraq protests had risen to 74 with more than 3,600 wounded.
