Pro-HKong students protest China security law

Taipei: Pro-democracy student activists on Thursday urged Taiwan's government to take action countering the national security legislation that China intends to impose on Hong Kong.

The activists wore masks and protested in front of the Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Cultural Office in Taipei, chanting "China government. Shame on you!"

A Hong Kong student in Taiwan and pro-democracy activist, who only gave her name as Justine, urged Taiwan's government to let Hong Kong students stranded in the semi-autonomous Chinese territory (but who study in Taiwan) return to Taiwan to preserve their rights to education.

Taiwan maintains a 14-day quarantine for foreign visitors to prevent the epidemic of the COVID-19, the illness caused by the virus.
