Palestinians clashed with Israeli soldiers in West Bank following a demonstration to protest against the killing of two Palestinian residents and to demand the return of their bodies, that are being held by Israel.

West Bank: Palestinians clashed with Israeli soldiers in the West Bank on Friday. Israeli soldiers used rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse the crowd.

The clashes followed a demonstration to protest against the killing of two Palestinian residents of Beit Sira village and to demand the return of their bodies, that are being held by Israel.

The Israeli army said the two targeted Israeli soldiers with their vehicle earlier this week, prompting troops to open fire, killing them.

An Israeli officer and border policeman were injured during Monday's incident. A third Palestinian inside the car was wounded and taken into custody.

The army said an initial inquiry "indicates that the incident was a terror attack."

A Palestinian official disputed that account - Khaldoun al-Deek, the mayor of the Palestinian village of Nima near where the incident occurred, told The Associated Press that it took place at a sharp curve in the road, leading him to "believe it was a road accident, not a ramming attack."

The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the two dead Palestinians as Amir Daraj and Yusuf Anqawi, both 20 years old.
