Over 3,800 evacuated after north China forest fire

Over 3,800 people were evacuated on Saturday after a major forest fire broke out in Qinyuan County, Shanxi Province in north China. The fire spread over an area of 666 hectares. More than 150 fire fighters and 30 fire engines were dispatched to quench the fire.

Qinyuan County, Shanxi Province: At least 3,800 people were evacuated on Saturday after a major forest fire broke out and spread over an area of 666 hectares in Qinyuan County, Shanxi Province in north China, local media reported.

More than 100 firefighters have been deployed to douse the flame which broke out on Friday. No casualties have been reported so far.

According to local media, more than 150 fire fighters and 30 fire engines were dispatched to quench the fire but strong and unpredictable winds worsened the situation.
