The US is the worst-hit nation with cases more than 1,43,14,265 and fatalities over 2,79,867.

The chief advisor of the US Covid-19 vaccine development programme is confident that at least 100 million people would have got coronavirus shots by the end of February 2021 and this operation would have covered the entire "at-risk" population comprising the elderly, frontline workers and those with comorbidities.

The first batch of 15 million doses of Oxford University and AstraZeneca's coronavirus vaccine will be shipped to Brazil in January and February, Health Minister Eduardo Pazuello said.

More than 100,000 people in Russia have already been inoculated against the coronavirus, said Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko on Wednesday, while presenting the Sputnik V vaccine to the United Nations over a video link.

The COVID-19 vaccination in Finland will be free and will start in early 2021, the country's Health Ministry said. Vaccinations will be offered by priority: medical personnel, patients of hospitals and nursing homes, people of older age groups.
