The US is the worst-hit nation with cases more than 1,37,50,608 and fatalities over 2,73,077.
Pakistan has passed a grim milestone of 8,000 COVID-19 deaths. With 40 COVID-19-related deaths in the last 24 hours, Pakistan tally of the pandemic fatalities jumped to 8,025 on Monday. The total number of positive cases has surged to 398,024.
Meanwhile, Brazil has surpassed 6.3 million COVID-19 cases. Brazil has registered 24,468 new cases and 272 more deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing its national caseload to 6,314,740 and death toll to 172,833, the Health Ministry reported on Sunday.
The first vaccines available to some of New York City's first responders could be distributed in a matter of weeks, according to an internal memo of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY).
The memo sent to emergency medical technicians (EMTs), paramedics and firefighters said that vaccinations for COVID-19 "will potentially begin in mid-late December" pending FDA approval, U.S. national television network NBC reported on Sunday.
