Hyderabad: The coronavirus pandemic has infected more than 1,95,46,748 and killed over 7,24,123 people across the world. More than 1,25,47,767 people have recovered so far.
The US accounted for the world's highest number of infections over 50,00,000 and fatalities more than 161,328.
Brazil came in second place with over 2,962,442 infections and more than 99,572 deaths.
India has the third-highest caseload in the world after the United States and Brazil. It has the fifth-most deaths but its fatality rate of about 2% is far lower than the top two hardest-hit countries.
Even as India has maintained comparatively low mortality rates, the disease has spread widely across the country.
Wearing face masks will remain mandatory in all indoor public spaces, as well as maintaining the one-metre interpersonal safety distance, and avoiding public gatherings.
