Okinawa: Firefighters responded to plumes of smoke billowing from a hazardous materials facility at a United States military base in Japan on Monday morning.
Footage from JNN-TBS showed the facility engulfed in smoke and flames at Okinawa's Kadena Air Base, and its roof partially caved in.
In a statement, Kadena Air Base said a fire started at a Hazardous Materials Pharmacy unit at around 8:50 a.m. local time on Monday.

It said personnel were evacuated and reported no injuries. The cause of the fire is not known.
