Beijing: Following the arrests of two Web users who insulted the People's Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers who were killed in the Galwan Valley border clash with Indian troopers, a blogger in Southwest China's Sichuan Province confessed his mistake by posting smears toward the PLA soldiers and has been arrested, according to Global Times.
According to reports, the 25-year-old Web user, surnamed Yang, was detained in southwestern Sichuan province, in the city of Mianyang, after he was reported by Internet users for posting "smears toward the PLA soldiers, who fought in the China-India border clash." "Under social pressure, Yang confessed to the police the following day, and he was given seven days of detention,” according to a statement by police authorities.
Earlier, a 28-year-old person surnamed Chen was arrested in Beijing and an online blogger surnamed Qiu and known as Labixiaoqiu online was arrested by police in Nanjing in East China's Jiangsu Province for insulting the fallen soldiers.
According to a statement issued by the Nanjing Public Security Bureau, they were charged for publishing insulting comments and for stirring up trouble that brought about a severe negative social impact.
After eight months, China on Friday unveiled for the first time details of the Chinese troopers who died in the border clash with the Indian military in Galwan Valley at the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh, prompting many to flood social media platforms to mourn the late soldiers.
