"The second round of meetings between the leaders of DPRK and the US is happening in Hanoi. Not only China, but the whole international community, hopes that the two leaders will continue to make substantial steps towards the denuclearisation of the peninsula from the current basis. We wish the meeting in Hanoi a success," said Kang.
In response to the reports of the possible meeting between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Lu indicated that the two sides are working on preparations.

In response to the report that two US navy ships sailed through the Taiwan Strait from Sunday to Monday, Lu said China is "firmly against such provocative actions."
Regarding the airstrike India launched early Tuesday on Kashmir, Lu called for both India and Pakistan to "remain restrained."
India said it targeted a terrorist training camp in a pre-emptive strike that killed a "very large number" of militants.
Lu said the campaign against terrorism requires international cooperation.
