Cherry blossom flowers reach full bloom in Tokyo

Cherry blossom flowers have reached full bloom in Tokyo. The blooming of the pink and white flowers signals the arrival of Spring in Japan, drawing thousands of onlookers to enjoy the dainty flowers.

Tokyo: Many onlookers came to enjoy the view of the pink and white flowers in Tokyo after Japan's weather agency announced that the cherry blossom flowers have reached full bloom on Wednesday.

People were seen strolling under the trees and taking photos at the Chidorigafuchi, one of the famous cherry blossom viewing points in Tokyo.

The blooming of these flowers signals the arriving of Spring in Japan.

Haruo Nomoto, a 68-year-old local who comes to see the cherry blossoms every year said, "I think the flowers are much more whitish this year. You would imagine cherry blossom flowers are much more pink but not this year."

Tokyo's cherry blossom flower started blooming last week and are expected to continue to bloom through the weekend.
