Queensland: Flood warnings remained in place in parts of Australia's New South Wales on Tuesday where five consecutive days of wild weather was keeping thousands of residents on standby for evacuation.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has warned of a "dynamic flood situation."
Some areas have been inundated with up to 500 millimetres (about 19 inches) of rain since Friday.
Coastal communities were hit with dangerous surf and strong winds.

The town of Bellingen, south of Coffs Harbour, was cut in two when Lavenders Bridge was closed by rising floodwaters.
The town has received 180 millimetres of rain since yesterday.
Just under 1,000 homes on the North Coast were without power following the severe weather.
The Bureau of Meteorology said the intensity of the rain should begin to ease later on Tuesday or early on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, southeast Queenslanders were cleaning up after heavy rainfall, damaging winds and high tides hit the region this week.
Some areas on the Gold Coast hinterland receiving nearly a meter of rain and coastal locations like Currumbin and Coolangatta experiencing rough seas and the formation of foam on beaches.
The low-pressure system has now eased, with the highest tide recorded on the Gold Coast Monday morning.
