Around 10 killed, 8 missing in China boat tragedy

At least 10 people killed and more than eight missing after a boat capsized in a river in southwestern China. China police took the captain of the boat into custody.

Zhenfeng County, Guizhou province: At least 10 people were killed and more than eight people went missing after a boat capsized in a river in southwestern China.

11 people including the captain of the ill-fated boat were rescued after it capsized near a remote Banrao village of Guizhou province.

The captain of the boat has been sent to police custody for interrogation.

According to China's Ministry of Emergency Management, the boat was a "self-built" motor-powered vessel.
