Paung: At least 22 people were killed when a landslip triggered by monsoon rains struck a village in eastern Myanmar, as emergency workers continued the search on Saturday for scores more feared missing.
Nearly 30 people were injured while some residents are still missing following the landslide.
The rescue mission is underway to clear the mud and save the people who were still stuck inside the debris.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, monsoon flooding had displaced more than 7,000 people this week in Mon state.
Along with Paung, houses and schools of other township got submerged int he monsoon flood.
According to the UN, nearly 12,000 people have been displaced in Myanmar this week alone, bringing the total number of those in evacuation centres to more than 38,000.
