Hyderabad: Three Indian journalists bagged the Pulitzer Prize announced by Columbia University on Monday..
Three Jammu and Kashmir-based photojournalists -- Channi Anand, Mukhtar Khan and Dar Yasin won the prestigious award in the feature photography category for covering Kashmir during lockdown after the abrogation of Article 370.
Yasin and Khan are based in Srinagar while Anand is based in the neighbouring Jammu district. The trio work for Associated Press, a US-based news agency.
Taking to Twitter, Yasin said, "Thank you colleagues, friends, brothers. I would just like to say thank you for standing by us always. It is an honour and a privilege beyond any we could have ever imagined. It is overwhelming to receive this honour."

Yasin said their prize-winning work has both professional and personal meaning to him. “It’s a great honour to be in the list of Pulitzer winners and to share my story with the world,” Yasin added.
Anand said the award left him speechless. “I was shocked and could not believe it,” he said, calling the prize-winning photos a continuation of the work he’s been doing for 20 years with the AP.
