Salute to America: US set to celebrate 243rd Independence Day

Washington: Washington is gearing up to the Independence Day celebrations on July 4 with military tanks. US President Donald Trump will deliver a speech at the Lincoln Memorial during his 'Salute to America', which has been added to the regular schedule of Independence Day events in the capital.

Trump said on Monday that a display of US military tanks will be part of a special event on July 4 in Washington.

Media reports say that two Abrams tanks are shipped on railroad freight cars from Fort Stewart, Georgia, the nearest Army base that has them.

A US official told the media that the military vehicles which are to be used during the event were being stored at the railyard.The Fourth of July celebration is also expected to include a military demonstration by the US Navy Blue Angels and other aircraft.
