Buenos Aires: Hundreds of people, mostly from the marginalised sectors of society, protested outside the Social Development Ministry in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires on Wednesday.
The protesters came out to express their anger at high inflation that negatively impacted their purchasing power.

They demanded the government to respond to what they say is a national food crisis.Social groups are demanding more and better quality food for soup kitchens that serve people in marginalised neighborhoods.Private figures released by Argentina's Catholic University point to rising child poverty which has reached 52 percent.Earlier on Wednesday, a group of demonstrators chained themselves to the fence outside Argentina's Central Bank calling on authorities to reverse the ratcheting up of austerity measures.At the same time, Argentine President Mauricio Macri addressing business leaders during an event in the capital admitted to 'mistakes' during his tenure and asked Argentines to unite behind economic reforms he has put in place in recently.
