California: At least three people were killed and 15 injured after gunfire broke out at a food festival in California on Sunday afternoon [local time], media reported. The shooting is still active according to reports.
According to reports, the shooting took place at around 5.30 pm. Witnesses reported confusion and panic as shots rang out at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in the city of 50,000 located about 80 miles southeast of San Francisco.
Ambulances were seen at the spot.
Todd Jones, a sound engineer, told the newspaper that he was at the front of the festival's Vineyard stage when he heard what sounded like a firework. "But then it started to increase, more rapidly, which sounded more like gunfire, and at that point, people realized what was happening," Jones said.

Police said the scene is "still active" two hours after the incident at the annual three-day California food festival.
The videos posted on social media show that the festival attendees running in confusion with one loud popping heard in the background.
Agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are responding to the scene of the shooting.
The Gilroy Garlic Festival is a nationally known three-day event that attracts thousands of garlic lovers. Sunday was the final day of the festival.
