Parana Delta: Firefighters have continued their fight against fires in the wetlands of the Parana River delta, destroying habitats in an area close to 200 square miles.
The Argentinian government sent hydrant planes, helicopters, rangers and firefighters to combat the outbreaks in the grasslands that started earlier in the year.
The fires on the islands of the Paraná River delta have destroyed habitats and filled the Argentina city of Rosario with smoke.
Residents in Rosario, the biggest city affected by the fires, took to social media networks to post images and to express their discontent about the smoke drifting into urban areas.
Earlier in the week, the Argentine Environment Minister Juan Cabandié blamed livestock ranchers for the fires and said the key to putting them out for good rests in the hands of prosecutors and judges.
