Buenos Aires: The Argentine Senate on Wednesday approved a bill legalizing abortion.
Following a 12-hour session in the country's Senator's chamber, the bill was finally passed just after 4 a.m. local time (07:00GMT) with 38 votes in favour, 29 against and one abstention.
The country's lower house had approved the bill on December 11.
The law establishes that women and other people with gender identities with the capacity to carry a child have the right to access the voluntary interruption of pregnancy until week 14 of the gestational process.
