Khartoum: Sudan's ruling military council said Sunday that ousted President Omar al-Bashir's party will not be allowed to join a civilian transitional government.
Lieutenant General Shamseldin Kibashi, a spokesman for the council, also called on the opposition to unite and appoint a prime minister.
He spoke after protest organisers held a second day of talks with the military council.

They earlier called on the military to "immediately and unconditionally" hand power to a transitional civilian government that would rule for four years.
